Letter of Invitation Conference:

Issued by the inviting organization in Ethiopia
Be written on company letterhead paper
Include the full name of the applicant
Specify the conference name
Specify the location of the conference
Include the start date and end date of the conference

Letter of Application:

issued by the inviting organization and addressed to a governmental department in Ethiopia
Be addressed to Department for Immigration and Nationality Affairs in Ethiopia if the applicant is invited by a NGO or private company
Be addressed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Ethiopia if the applicant is invited by an international or intergovernmental organization

Proof of Company Registration

A copy of the Business License of the inviting company
A copy of the TIN Certificate of the inviting company
Applicants invited by a registered NGO must submit a copy of the registration license of the organization.

Proof of Purpose

Applicants traveling to Ethiopia for short-term task assignments, short-term work or business discussions must submit the following documents:

A copy of the Business License of the company for which the applicant will be working.
A copy of the TIN Certificate of the Ethiopian company
A copy of the contractual agreement between the inviting company and the applicant
A copy of the Authorization Letter issued by the Department of Immigration and Nationality Affairs of Ethiopia or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

Applicants traveling to Ethiopia who has already engaged in investment activities in Ethiopia must submit the following documents:

A copy of the Business License of the inviting company
A copy of the support letter issued by the Ethiopian Investment Commission
A copy of the Authorization Letter issued by the Department of Immigration and Nationality Affairs

Applicants traveling to Ethiopia to invest for the first time have to submit a support letter issued by the nearest Ethiopian Embassy.
