Inivitation or delegation letter (incl. details of the non-paid occupation, occupation in the german company, confirmation of cost coverage) and list of all tools (model, series number, quantity, etc.)

Depending on your individul case, applying for a work permit may be the more sensible option due to regulatory reasons, although you would be exempted from visa obligation.

Also for stays for the purpose of work of more than 180 days but payment from German company, applying for a work permit in advance may be the more sensible option, although a regular visa would be sufficient according to immigration law.

name of traveller and period of stay
purpose of journey
place of residence in country of destination (address of company or organisation)
declaration of cost assumption by the German company/organization
